Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic received a new software update that brings many features to smartwatches including the Fall Detection feature. The update brings four new faces alongside GIF support to my My Photo + clock face. New photos have also been added to expand Samsung's face clock collection. The latest update also brings touch controls that enable users to do more wearable using simple hand movements. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic were launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event in August this year, and both devices are now getting their first major update.

Samsung announced the release of its first Gralaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic on Wednesday. Update will be available through the Galaxy Wearable app.

With the new update, Samsung has added a ‘Info Brick’ watch face that reflects heart rate, pressure, and daily work status, as well as a clock face that reflects deep weather forecasts. Users can also choose from the basic dashboard or live wallpapers inspired by Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. All of this comes with a customization option.

Users can mix and match up to four problems such as battery life, reminders, messages, and action counts that will be displayed on the Animal Viewer face. The latest update also brings support for displaying moving GIFs in My Photo + face watch. The changelog of the Galaxy Watch 4 series features an exciting animation on the face of the Steps Challenge clock. With this, the animated bear will follow the user of the Galaxy Watch 4 with every step of the competition.

Samsung has compiled the latest version of the Galaxy Watch 4 with a touch control feature. With this, the ‘knock, knock’ movement on the wrist can allow users to do many things, such as open a pre-selected app, open a worklist, create a reminder, or turn on the light. Additionally, calls can be made by simply moving the arm up and down twice.

Lastly, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic got the fall detection feature with a new update. Wearts can detect heavy falls and activate a warning and send an SOS notification to up to four pre-selected contacts. Galaxy Watch users who install the new update can also get a free 60-day Strava subscription with the Strava app.

Updates for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have been released since Wednesday, October 20. Samsung says the availability may vary by market and operator. The update will come in Bluetooth versions of the Galaxy Watch 4 series first, with LTE versions scheduled for you soon.
