WhatsApp blocked more than 2 million Indian accounts in August

WhatsApp explained that "Accounts Actioned" refers to reports in which it has taken corrective action according to the report. Taking action means blocking an account or restoring a previously blocked account due to a complaint.
Also, reports may be reviewed but may be classified as "Actioned" for a variety of reasons, including a user who needs help accessing his or her account or using other features, a user's requested request for a blocked account and request is denied, or if the reported account violates rules India or WhatsApp Terms of Service.
More than three million Indian accounts have been blocked by WhatsApp, and 594 complaints were received by the messaging platform between June 16 and July 31.
The new IT rules - which came into effect on May 26 - require large digital forums (with more than 5 million users) to publish compliance reports on a monthly basis, stating details of complaints received and action taken.
WhatsApp had previously emphasized that being a platform to the end, is not reflected in the content of other messages.
In addition to the code of conduct from the accounts, it is based on the unwritten information available, including user reports, profile pictures, group photos and description and advanced AI tools and resources to detect and prevent harassment on its platform, it said.
