Spam Calls In India: 200 million spam calls in the country from a single number, "silent telecom companies knowing all"

The amount of spam calls in the country has increased exponentially. Such information has emerged from a recent report by Truecaller. Multiple urgent information about spam calls has come to light, which the countrymen should be aware of. According to the caller-identification service, there are about 202 million spam calls in India from a single phone number.

Worry! This means that a single phone number continues to annoy 6 lakh 64 thousand people in the country every day and about 27 thousand people every hour. Truecaller publishes a list every year identifying these spam callers. That list includes the biggest spam callers in different parts of India. Truecaller lists those numbers in such a way that they can be blocked automatically.

Truecaller published the report compiling spam call statistics for each month between January and October 2021 in India. And those statistics have been recorded and published in the Global Spam Report. Yes, in just ten months, there have been 200 million spam calls in the country, much more than last time.

However, this year, in just 10 months, the number from which 200 million spam calls have been made, the Truecaller authorities have had to go to great lengths to catch the spammer. According to the company, telecom companies know all about this number. But despite that, TrueCaller wondered why they weren't taking action.

Most of the spam calls in India are related to sales and telemarketing. Sometimes more spam calls come in, including banking, loan offers. Among them is the phone call of fraudsters in the name of KYC of the bank. Where ordinary people lose money by stepping into the trap of cheaters. Sometimes people have to be lost again.

At the same time, fraudsters are getting caught in the trap of swindling millions of rupees in the name of offering one-time passwords, online sales, lottery and remote access app downloads to customers. Fraudsters continue to deceive the common people by using such various tricks of spam calls.

Some countries have the highest number of spam calls, with TrueCaller's list of 20 countries. Last year, India was in the ninth place, so this time it has become the fourth place for the country. Brazil has remained the same as it was - in the first place. Brazil receives 33 spam calls per user per month. Peru in South America is in the second place. In that country, one user receives more than 18 spam calls every month, the report said.

TrueCaller reports that on an average, every mobile user in India receives 17 spam calls. In all, TrueCaller users in India received 380 crore spam calls in October alone on a month-on-month basis in the country.
