Fraud: Theranos Inc. founder Elizabeth Holmes convicted, could face up to 70 years in prison

 Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos Inc, a leading US healthcare technology company, has been convicted in a fraud case involving investors.

The jury handed down the verdict after months of landmark trial in federal court in California.

They have found unequivocal evidence of four charges against him, including three cases of fraud with investors and three cases of electronic fraud.

Holmes could face up to 20 years in prison for each of those crimes, the BBC reported. He could face up to 80 years in prison.

Prosecutors allege that Holmes "knowingly" lied about technology that could detect disease with a few drops of blood. Holmes, however, denied the allegations.
